FAMOUS TEMPLES OF MAA SARASWATI IN INDIA

1). WARANGAL SRI VIDYA SARASWATI TEMPLE (ANDHRA PRADESH)

• Mata Saraswati is worshiped here at Hans Vahini Vidya Saraswati Temple. The temple is located in Warangal in Frog district of Andhra Pradesh. Kanchi Shankar Math maintains the temple. Other deities temples such as Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi temple, Lord Shaniswar temple, and Lord Shiva temple are built here.


2). SARASWATI TEMPLE OF PUSHKAR (RAJASTHAN)

• While Pushkar of Rajasthan is famous for its Brahma temple, Saraswati, the goddess of learning, is also famous. There is also evidence of river form of Saraswati and is considered a symbol of fertility and purity.



3). SRI SHARADAMBA TEMPLE (KARNATAKA)

• Sharda temple of Sringeri temple is also very popular. It is also known as Sharadamba Temple. Dedicated to the goddess of knowledge and art, Sharadamba, the Dakshannamaya Peeth was built in the 7th century by Acharya Sri Shankar Bhagavatpada. According to legends, during the 14th century the ancient sandalwood statue of the presiding deity was replaced with gold and stone inscriptions.



4). PANACHIKKAD SARASWATI TEMPLE (KERALA)

• This temple is located in Panachikkad Kerala, it is the only temple in Kerala dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. This temple is also known as Dakshin Mookambika. The temple is located near Chingavanam. It is believed that this temple was established by Keezhappuram Namboodiri. He discovered this statue and installed it facing east. Another statue was installed facing west but has no shape. The statue has a lamp which keeps on burning all the time.


5). SHRI GYAN SARASWATI TEMPLE (ANDHRA PRADESH)

• One of the very famous temples of Saraswati, it is located in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh which is famously called Basar or Basra. In Basar, Goddess Gyan is famous by the name of Saraswati, through whom knowledge is imparted. This temple is situated on the Godavari River. According to mythology, after the Mahabharata war, sage Vyasa set out in search of peace. They reached the Kumarachala hill on the banks of the Godavari river and worshiped the goddess. Pleased with them, Devi appeared to him. At the behest of the goddess, she put three handfuls of sand at three places daily. These three heaps of sand turned into miracles as a statue of three goddesses called Saraswati, Lakshmi and Kali.
